Cyberbullying

"Everybody in O'Fallon knows who you are. You are a bad person and everybody hates you. The world would be a better place without you," messaged from Josh Evans to Megan Meier. 20 minutes after receiving this terrible message, Megan Meier had hung herself. Despite attempts to revive her, she was pronounced dead the following day. Six weeks after Megan's death,  her parents were informed that the mother of one of Megan's friends, with whom Megan had a falling out, had created the "Josh Evans" account. The parent, Lori Drew, who created the fake account, admitted that she and her daughter had the password to the account. After the incident was finally reported to the media a year later, the world had found out Lori's Drew 18-year-old  temporary employee, Ashley Grills, had written most of the messages addressed to Megan. Sadly, Lori Drew and Ashley Grill were not convicted for long and their conviction was appealed in 2009.

Megan Meier is just another victim of cyberbullying. She was not the only one who committed suicide because of bullying. There were and are many victims. To keep cyberbullying from becoming a growing epidemic, reach out to friends and be careful what you say on the internet.
